Hotel a Gola Royal Gorge

“Spotless room. Brought my fur babies and ease of check-in was great. Staff were very courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was good with scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy (yum!), and the usual waffles, cold and hot cereal, 3 types juice, mild, medium and strong coffee (also decaf), yogurt, etc. Bed was very comfortable. My only problem was inconsistency with the cooling; however, this is a problem with all hotel units that use these types of units. (Wonder why they have not adopted the mini-splits...

“Lovely history hotel. However the very small room (no where to sit except the very high bed and the toilet was less than ideal. So too was the fact that the 2nd floor room window view was of the very large physical plant for the air conditioning, The view was a minor issues it was the loud hum of the machinery that was problematic.”

“Our room smelled of feet and there was a large toenail clipping on the floor when we arrived. I don't think that the room had been vacuumed, though the bed was made. There was no fan in the bathroom, which was really hot compared to the room itself. The whole building seemed old and worn down. The pillows were small and flat, but the bed was comfortable. “Wheelchair accessible bath was not accessible room was not cleaned for 4 days. Bath towels were not changed out. We were there for 4 days and nothing was done in the room”

“The front desk staff was friendly, polite, and very efficient during check-in, which made for a great first impression. Unfortunately, the rest of our stay was very disappointing. The room was not clean. The carpet had multiple sticky spots, the toilet was dirty, and there was hair in both the bathroom and the bathtub, making it seem like the room hadn’t been properly cleaned before our arrival. “The place was WONDERFUL!! Beautiful views. Would love to come back. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 star review is because the TVs didn't work.”

“Room was dirty, dead bugs in the corner of the bathroom. Room floors needed to be swept and mopped. Had to ask staff to come sweep and mop. Even after they said they did the dead bugs were still in the corner. Bathtub was gross and dirty. No extra toilet paper, one washcloth for two people. Microwave door was broken. Definitely not worth the price. I’ve stayed in places for less with way better service and way cleaner.”

“Very clean well done cottages. We’ve stayed there 3 times. The location is very lovely. Our only minor complaint was we were asked mot particularly politely to wash the dishes and put out the trash. There were very few dishes so it was not a big deal. It just made our visit not quite as nice.”

“Nice sized rooms and we enjoyed coming in after our night out and finding a popcorn machine that provided a great evening snack. The other rooms do seem to be occupied by people living there with food, clothes and possibly garbage sitting outside some rooms. We didn’t expect that but I guess it is an extended stay hotel. Room was fairly clean and simple so if you’re expecting frills don’t stay here.”
